SERVICE MODELS

Our passion is to guide and assist a person reach their full potential and highest level of function in the places they learn, play, work, live. As a small practice, we can provide personalized care to improve communication and promote success of activities of daily living to improve the quality of life and independence of the children and adults we serve. We recognize the benefits of a team approach and implement collaboration in our services as needed. 

 

Children use language to learn, interact with others, express wants and needs, likes and dislikes. Delays in speech and language can have an adverse effect on behavior, academics, social development. We encourage effective self-regulation, minimize disciplinary issues and classroom disruptions, and improve learning and relationships with peers.  As part of our approach we provide consultations with/to school teachers in order to provide a better understanding of your child’s abilities, needs, and support needed in various settings.

 

We enable adults recovering from a stroke, brain injury, and other brain-related disorders. We treat language, cognitive communication skills, and swallowing function due an injury or medical condition.  

  • Individual therapy in an office environment 

  • Home-based services if parent/therapist feels that the natural environment is most conducive to learning or will supplement other environments well. This service delivery is used to involve siblings and caregivers. 

  • Early intervention in a preschool setting: early identification of needs and implementation of treatment plan to assist the child teacher

  • School support for older children: therapy and support at school, or scheduled visits at school providing strategies and support so school can be a positive, rewarding experience, occasional visits scheduled to provide support as needed.  

  • Group therapy sessions (Socialization Group): Two or more children simultaneously receive services to coach and monitor interaction between peers. Intended for children with pragmatic deficits, behavioral difficulties, and as a platform for children to practice language skills carryover skills in a supportive environment.

  • Family support: Providing families with the knowledge, strategies and support to manage their child's needs. Caregiver and nanny training sessions sessions are offered to assist parents and nannies with communication, behavior management, establishing routines and schedules to facilitate carryover in the home and community. 

  • Teletherapy: Providing therapy through a live video connection using a HIPAA-compliant platform. In the case of a child, it requires a caregiver to set up and depending on the child, side-by-side assistance. It is a great opportunity for teaching and coaching caregivers. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) recognize Teletherapy as an appropriate model for service delivery.
