Silvia Azcárate M.S., CCC-SLP

Silvia Azcárate M.S., CCC-SLP, believes that communication is a basic human right, and as a speech language therapist she strives to teach children and adults overcome communication difficulties and facilitate language learning for people to become independent communicators. 

 

Silvia graduated from the University of Oregon with Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Early Intervention. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the State of Florida in Speech-Language Pathology. As an undergraduate, she studied Speech Therapy at Buenos Aires National University in Argentina. She is able to diagnose and treat in both English and Spanish. 

 

Silvia started her career working in Early Intervention where she acquired experience in early identification, early diagnosis and treatment with the birth-to- five population. When she moved to Miami, she continued working with the pediatric population at a rehabilitation hospital where she treated inpatient and outpatient medically involved pediatric cases. At the same time, she started her work in adult rehabilitation, from coma rehabilitation to cognitive retraining, patients on feeding tubes with dysphagia to trial diets and full oral intake. 

 

She furthered her passion for enabling individuals across different circumstances when she joined the acute rehabilitation team in a South Florida hospital where she is still per diem staff. There, she serves a variety of disorders including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia and voice disorders. 

 

She believes in communicating with students, patients, family members, nurses, teachers, physicians, a holistic team approach, and being an advocate for those in need, be it in educational or medical settings. 

 

All her rewarding experiences led her to start building her private practice in 2003 which became More than Words Therapy in 2013, when she supplemented her services with Occupational Therapy. She believes her work has an impact on the children and adults she treats, on their families, at school and in the community. 

Gaby has an overflowing amount of love and passion to help children from all ages to reach their full potential! She has worked in different environments (Home health settings, Outpatient/clinic, and school). She has been practicing as an OT for over six years with children with developmental delays, cerebral palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, attention difficulties (attention deficit hyperactive disorder or attention deficit disorder), sensory processing disorders, and various genetic disorders.


Gaby is a Florida licensed, nationally certified Occupational Therapist. She earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy and the Bachelors of Art in Psychology from Florida International University.


Gaby believes in individualized therapy session for each child that will develop their independence, play, and function in each role that is presented to them as they grow. She believes in caregiver empowerment for carryover from the sessions.

Kristina Slog M.S., OTR/L

Kristina is a pediatric occupational therapist, passionate about incorporating functional play and creative arts into therapy to progress children’s developmental skills and sensory integration. She is licensed in the state of Florida and nationally certified by the NBCOT. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She also has a background in Kinesiology, graduating from Temple University with a Bachelor’s of Science. Kristina very often incorporates her knowledge of Kinesiology into her therapy by using movement and functional exercises to regulate the sensory systems of children with integration concerns. 

 

Kristina has been working as a pediatric occupational therapist for six years across various settings including early intervention, schools, and private therapy clinics. She has worked as a licensed occupational therapist in Philadelphia, PA and South Florida providing 1:1 therapy, group therapy, telehealth therapy and consultative services. She has experience with various ages and diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, attention disorders, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders and sensory processing disorders. 

 

Kristina enjoys creating therapy routines and activities that engage children in play while they are simultaneously learning important developmental skills. She believes that incorporating a child’s natural interests into her interventions is the best way to improve their attention and carry over of skills.

Caroline Plyas, M.S. CCC-SLP

Caroline is passionate about helping children of all ages communicate! She has been treating children with various exceptionalities (Developmental delays, Autism Spectrum, Intellectual disabilities) at camps, schools, and in their homes for many years. Caroline believes that every child benefits from individualized care and treatment to achieve their highest potential. Working alongside caregivers, teachers, and other therapists to develop goals and therapies to treat your child’s speech and language needs in a fun and meaningful way!

 

Caroline is a Florida licensed, ASHA accredited Speech-Language Pathologist. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McGill University in Canada and her Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from SUNY Fredonia. Caroline speaks English, French, Russian, and Hebrew.

Rebecca Brito, M.S., CCC-SLP

Rebecca M.S., CCC-SLP, has a passion for helping individuals across developmental stages become more independent. She believes being able to communicate in any way (gestures, spoken words, typed words, pictures) creates a happier and more fulfilling life for children and adults alike. She believes working alongside parents, caregivers, therapists, and teachers helps support the individual in all of their environments. She has experience evaluating and providing therapy for children in the areas of articulation, expressive and receptive language, and pragmatics, as well as for children who present with a communication delay or disorder secondary to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Ohtahara Syndrome, or Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

Rebecca incorporates aspects of the evidence-based Greenspan Floortime Approach (DIRFloortime) in her interventions with children. It is used to promote development by building on a child’s strengths and abilities in a respectful, playful, and engaging way. She believes that following the child’s lead, meeting them where they are, and understanding their interests can help clinicians challenge children of any age and stage to move up the developmental ladder at their individual pace.

Rebecca graduated from Florida International University with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed by the State of Florida in Speech-Language Pathology. She has worked with children in their schools, homes, and in private practices in individual, group, and teletherapy settings.

Elizabeth H. Crep, M.S., CCC-SLP

Elizabeth is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in the state of Florida. She received her Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Utah State University and Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. Elizabeth has 17 years of experience with the pediatric population working with various populations from 0-5 years of age, focusing on early intervention; receptive/expressive language, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, feeding/sensory oral motor stimulation, social pragmatic skills, premature/medically fragile infants and various cognitive and syndrome types. Elizabeth works closely with the children’s family and other professionals to facilitate effective communication skill development and implementation of individualized programing and plan of care. 

​

Elizabeth has dedicated most of her life to the pediatric population, implementing in home/school programming and social pragmatic skills to children and families in the community. Her passion for the field of Speech and Language Pathology grew stronger when she realized all she wanted to do was be able to enhance and teach individuals a way to communicate their wants and immediate needs in all aspects and situations of their lives.

Katie Alea M.S., CCC-SLP

Katie Alea graduated with a Master of Science in speech-language pathology from Florida International University in 2019 and received  her certificate of clinical competence in 2020. From there, she pursued working with pediatric clients in private offices and with adult patients in various medical settings. She joined us part-time in 2020. She currently works providing assessments and therapy to school-aged children, with speech sound disorders, language disorders, cognitive delays. Katie also has a passion for voice therapy. 

​

Katie has a creative background in the performing arts. Playing the French horn for over a decade and studying acting in college heightened her understanding of strong communication and voice.

Cristina Fernandez, OTD, OTR/L

Cristina Fernandez earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2023. She is a Florida licensed occupational therapist  and is registered with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy. She has experience in a variety of settings such as schools, outpatient clinics, inpatient clinics, acute care, and home health. She currently treats patients across the lifespan, with a primary focus in pediatrics and helping children and families be as independent as possible. She has experience working with a multitude of pediatric diagnoses including autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and unspecified developmental delays. Cristina is fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of her work, Cristina enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Daniella Orbe, ST-A

Daniella is a speech language pathologist assistant and is currently doing her Master's degree in ​Communication Disorders to become a certified speech and language pathologist. She studied linguistics at the University of Florida and began teaching after graduation. She has been passionate about education and languages from a young age. She thrived in the classroom with my her students and loved witnessing their growth and progress throughout each year. 

 

Her work in elementary education has added to her perspective on speech therapy, literacy, and education. She treats each child with care and compassion while maintaining their communicative needs paramount. She has experience in working with children with ASD, deafness and hard of hearing, cerebral palsy and phonological processes. She delivers services in English and Spanish.

Inalvys Fonseca, Registered Occupational Therapist

Inalvys Fonseca is a highly experienced registered occupational therapist with a decade of expertise in pediatric care. She is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential through tailored therapy programs that promote independence and enhance daily living skills. With a compassionate and family-centered approach, Inalvys works closely with both children and their families to ensure the best outcomes.

When she’s not in the clinic, Inalvys enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling to explore new cultures and experiences. Her commitment to both her profession and her personal life is a testament to her belief in a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Nicole Mauricio, COTA/L

Nicole Mauricio is a pediatric certified occupational therapist assistant who graduated from Keiser University and is licensed in the state of Florida. She has been working in the OT field a little over 10 years through various settings such as early intervention, schools, daycares, private therapy clinics, and clients homes. She also has experience with various ages, diagnosis, behaviors and different levels of function.

 

She is passionate about improving a child’s academic, physical, social and emotional development, cognition, and sensory processing skills to help them more fully function in daily life. Nicole collaborates with the child’s family, teachers, nurses, caregivers, other therapist and uses a holistic approach to achieve the shared goal. Nicole would like to share with prospective families that she is a Miami native, raised by immigrant parents and with a sibling that has cerebral palsy. Her sibling was the start of her passion of helping children, and Nicole is always looking for continue education to keep improving.

Carmen Rico, COTA/L

Carmen Rico graduated from Keiser University and attends FIU to become a Registered Occupational Therapist. She truly enjoys creating interactive materials to use with her clients and plan activities that cater to their specific preferences/needs. Finding ways to motivate and create fun learning experiences is always something she strives for during therapy.

Alexandria Guillen, DPT

Alexandria loves what she does, providing her patients with hope and the tools to have better quality of life.  As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, it is her duty to be willing to go the extra mile to help her patients reach their goals and achieve health. Her experience has an extensive range of ages and diagnoses. 

 

Specifically, for pediatrics she has been able to assist many in neurological and orthopedic diagnoses. Most common neurological diagnoses she has seen include Autism Spectrum Disorder, attention disorders, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders and sensory processing disorders. Orthopedic diagnoses could include sprains, strains, tears, ACL, meniscus, toe walking, pigeon toe, hip dysplasia, concussions, fractures, torticollis and migraines.

​

Her favorite part of her job is learning and engaging with her patients and watching them progress. A moving body is a healthy body and she will continue to help all move with the best intentions.

Kira Quintana, Administration Assistant

Kira Quintana is an alumna of the University of Miami who studied psychology and chemistry. Connecting with children has always been fulfilling to her.

She currently assists with administrative duties.
